I was told in my job centre when i signed off and started work that the council would pay my rent for four weeks after i started work

My question is what documents do i has to show to the local council to have this done ? i have tried calling them but have ended up going around in circles and i do not have the time to visit them that is until i know what documets i have to provide

It "should" be automatic. You shouldn't need any documents as it is not means tested.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

I am nearly certain that you have to provide documents . I have heard something about a document about a work contract from your new employer

You could provide a contract but many contracts are also verbal so you won't have a written contract and there isn't any requirement to have a written contract. You can write a letter stating that you have started work and expect it to be ongoing.

I had to jump through hoops when going back to work in September, took me 7 weeks to get my run on through, despite having a contract they sent me out a form which had to go to my payroll, it was middle of October before it was all backdated, and even now it's not fully sorted out (they wanted another 2 payslips, my claim was suspended again last week whilst they wait on Novembers slip)

In theory dwp informs them and run on should continue, whilst you do change of circumstances form. I ended up having to claim again from scratch whilst awaiting the 2nd payslip.
    Debt free

Ideally what should happen is the JCP will send an in work form to the LA confirming the qualifying conditions are met

But as with many HB changes, it will often depend on who is dealing with it. The main piece of info asked for by my colleagues is confirmation the work is expected to last 5+ weeks.

something to bear in mind, the software we use & a lot of other LAs too, needs the 4 week run on -Extended Payment Period (EPP) - to be processed as a separate claim & so you may get letters saying your benefit has been cancelled when it hasnt really.

The HB guidance manual on this is here - http://www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/hbgm-c5-extended-payments.pdf

Is their a time deadline that has to be met when you make your claim for EP ?
