Samsung Galaxy Tab - Tesco

If anyone purchased a Galaxy Tab 2 and has sent in a claim for a £30/£50 rebate from Samsung, you may encounter the same problem I had.

Now this may only affect those purchased in store, rather than ordered online.

I had a communication fro Samsung telling me that my receipt only identified the purchase as "Tablet - Data Storage Product Type A" and had no reference to it being a Samsung Galaxy Tablet.

I had to photograph the box identity label and send it on to the processing team. To go belt and braces, I also photographed the back of the device and then the device next to the box.

Th lady from the processing team was great and confirmed receipt of the email with photos and confirmed that the claim was accepted.

Might be worth checking if you have similar wording on your till receipt.

As I said, it may not affect you if you ordered on line.

    Curious, given that Samsung also require the serial no and can presumably identify the product from the number they allotted themselves! Sounds like looking for an excuse to duck out of paying cashback.

    I too bought from the store and my receipt just says "tablet". Not had such a message from Samsung yet (apx 1 week since submission) I'll wait and see what happens.

    Im going to have fun with mine then. I purchased from Argos, and they come up on their system as an Espresso 7.0 8GB WIFI TA. Girl on the till had to double query it was right as it didn't say samsung. I've just put my claim for cashback today, hope it goes through ok. Had enough trouble working out the receipt number and the model number. Does make you wonder if its all done on purpose to make the claim harder.

    It's a 3rd party handling the cashback claims and they seemed pretty up front. I suppose that anyone could have obtained a mate's serial number and that's why they wanted some written proof of purchase confirming that it was a Samsung tablet you purchased. Personally, I blame Tesco's systems for not printing out the details of the purchase.

    If you want to cut out any delays, then email them with a couple of photos. They seem pretty good at tying in emails to your claim number. This was what they said to me
    So we can process your claim please email help@samsungbacktocollege.com and attach the file containing the serial number. Once you have done this please click the send button to complete the process. Please ensure you include the Claim Reference given above. Please contact one of our promotional support associates for further help if required.

  • I purchased my tablets from carphone warehouse and on their receipts they do not give the model number. I had an email from them saying supply model number as was not stated on receipt. Rang customer care and gave them the model number on the side of the box and they confirmed my claim within minutes by way of e mail. Safe yourselves some time and just ring them with the model number make sure you have your claim ref number handy.
