I'd choose the Mini over the IPad 2 myself, very similar spec but the Ipad Mini is ultra ultra portable and the smaller size screen (higher DPI though) hardly notices in normal use. My kids have the Mini and The Wife has an Ipad 2 so I have done quite a few comparisons lol, if the next gen mini has a retina display I will be trading my 3rd gen Ipad straight in

We generally do our gadgets shopping from Curry's or Viking. Recently we found Euroffice, they have been associated with Daily mail's cashback rewards for providing the best iPad deal & you could earn a free High Street vouchers of up to £50 so that was quite tempting as an offer. Go for it :)
