I had this - have you tried a telephone in the bt socket - if you do and this works ie your telephone line is fine then get sky to send an engineer to check the box. We had the same problem and it was actually the box at fault. Sky then refunded the extra charges.0

thanks they want to charge £65 for call out as box is 3 years old !
any ideas??0 -
hey i work for sky in customer relations (cust care)
do u have a witheld number this is the most common problem or 2 lines in house with 2 different number can also be.
you wont get refunded until you are not volienting, ,but yes you could be refunded, everyone is different on how much they get back or if they get everything back.
i would write in to customer relations at sky ,
if the boxes are connected there may be a faulty in your box, which a service call is required ,they will be able to help with this.:money: COMP TARGET £400

Jesus Christ, if thats an example of Sky Customer Relations then i fear for the OP. What were you saying about a "faulty" in their box? Also what is "volienting" lol553780080 -

hum yes, agree with you there ... not a good advert for sky is it?
ra-2007 - you may be trying to help but you are showing your employers in a good light is it?0 -
sorry but i am not at work .i am only giving u advise, only trying to help
this is not an example of customer relations as i am not working right now and i am not dealing with your case
sorry as its in your terms and conditions that boxes are connected to your telephone line, (voilenting)
i didnt say there are any faulty boxes, i just state it they have said you need a service call , they engineer or your line may have a fault ,not connected properly or something like that
i would advise you (not as a sky employee) to write in, as they can look more closely at your account than call centres, and also if u did need a service call then they would either tell u its chargeable or free service call.
u will have to write in to get refunded as the call centre have a credit limit to what they can apply to your account.you should get a refund, as most do:money: COMP TARGET £400

Phone up and cancel, they soon waive the call out fee, I've not known anyone pay it personally, Sky want your monthly subs, they will fix for free.
On the small chance they call your bluff and the cancel goes through, within weeks you will get 'Please come back' phone calls and offers of replacing the faulty equipment.
It's about time Sky worked the same way as cable, they only loan you the equipment, if it fails they replace it.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Thanks
I changed the lead that comes from the box into the phone line and it worked
ASDA (£3.88)
Saved £65 call out as box is 14 mths old
Rang today, line is now fine, £27 to be credited next month subs
Thanks for response and help0
