Bringing a PS3 from the US to the UK

Options
Hi guys,

I am going to America soon, and I am considering buying a PlayStation 3 from there as they are so much cheaper!! I was wondering if you would be able to tell me what charges I would be liable for bringing it back into the UK? I know I will have to pay VAT (17.5%), but do you know if there is anything else? Also, do you know if there would be charges at the US too (at the check-in desk).

Thanks in advance!

No charges in the US at all, they don't care if you take something out. You may or may not have to pay VAT (depends if you're going to declare it or not, you have to check the limits, it's probably right under the limit).

Make sure you check whether PS3 games are region coded (I think they are not, but am not sure). The PS2 was region coded, so you would only be able to play games produced for the US market.

Also, I think the US PS3 has a little more features than the UK, so it sounds like a good idea!
