Royal Mail not collecting from a post box

I work for a supermarket and we have a post box in the store. It should be collected Mon-Friday at 5:15pm. Twice in the past two weeks its not been emptied.

I have contacted RM about it and they e-mail me back asking for the barcode number inside the box! I can't get to this.

I am also wanting to complain about the removal of the Saturday collection from the box.

The store is used by many elderly customers that find it a struggle to go to the PO in the department store opposite work.

I am worried that customers are posting letters which may miss the Christmas post.

Has anyone contacted RM about something similar?

  • Do you know where your local delivery office is? It might be worth a trip to speak to the delivery office manager and voice your issues.
    I assuming that the staff based at that delivery office would be responsible for mail collections (please correct me if I am wrong).

    Sounds daft, but are you sure they're not coming in later? The displayed time is the earliest time of the last collection.
    Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
    Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?

    you might just be
    collections would be dealt with by the mail centre, in the majority of cases

    Sometimes they are 10-20 mins late. I was at the till nearest to the PB and a postie never came.
