I am going to be upgrading to Windows 8 early next year. I am currently using W7 and its not liking my Epson Stylus SX215 when I have downloaded the driver for the OS.
This is the 2nd or 3rd time where when I changed my computer and with it the Windows version, I had to get a new printer as either the driver for the printer didn't support the new OS or in my current case, there is a driver, but it doesn't work!
I am wanting a 3 in 1 as I do mystery shopping and need the scanner for uploading receipts etc for claiming back my expenses. I don't want an expensive one - budget is £60.

Windows 8 is no upgrade, stick with Windows 7.
However, don't know about Epson drivers but my Windows 8 PC had drivers for my 3 in one HP C6280.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
My Epson SX420W is fine with windows 8Friends help you move. Real friends help you move bodies.0

Seeing as win8 allegedly uses the legacy drivers supported by windows 7, you shouldn't have any problem. Even if the driver installer program supplied with the printer doesn't work (it should, though) all you need to normally do is extract the driver manually and stick it with the rest of the drivers. I did that with a logitech webcam I'd had since windows 2000 when the installer didn't work with win 7, as well as a load of other bits of hardware.0

It depends on the age of the printer. I had this issue with an ancient (about 10 years old) HP Deskjet 880C that needed to run on W7. I was amazed to find that HP even offered Vista drivers for it-they don't do them for W7 though.
You cannot expect manufacturers to supply support for peripherals that are much more than about 5 years old.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
