Using the Kindle App on a Samsung Tab2.0 7"

Kindle App downloaded onto tablet is picking up amazon library no problem. I also have other kindle format books on my laptop. If I copy them into the "My Kindle Content" folder (via cable connection) I assume they will work just the same. Is there a way of getting the Kindle App to look for Kindle content on a memory card (rather than "filling up" the actual unit?
