going to OZ in 2weeks and was just wondering about c/l solution
we have a night stopover in dubai, so i need to take them out.
i know about the new fluid laws etc, 100ml only (hope you can get them that size) so i take it your not allowed to have any fluid in the plastic case leaving the UK ? What about elsewhere in the world ?
we're flying glasgow-dubai-singapore-brisbane with emirates
silly question really but one i need to know, i phoned glasgow airport but it all automated answers.
oh while i remember lol,
even though we have multiple changovers, do we just put our OZ address on our luggage tags, i would imagine international check in will be at glasgow and won't see our bags again till OZ
thanks

So long as it's under 100ml you should be ok, they ummed and ahhed over mine that was 120ml and in the end confiscated it at Gatwick  Not had any problems anywhere elseITV Winners Club #87 :eek:0

Try asking your optician - ours gave us some small free "sample" size bottles of our solutions, which were perfect for our flights to NZ last Xmas (until I left them on the plane, that is...!) Can't remember the exact size, but they were well under the 100ml limit.0

You can get packs of tiny little twist-top tubes of solution from Boots etc, usually handy to keep in your handbag/pocket in case you need to clean your lenses.0

You will be fine as long as it is under 100ml and you have the soloution bottle in the plastic bag.
Put your address in Australia on the luggage tags, you will be able to check your luggage in at GLA and that will be it straight through to Brisbane:j Debt free since 31/01/08:j

I went to Florida in January - had my lenses in. I just took the overnight storage/cleaning container full of solution and used that to store them in while I slept.
Showed them it going through to the departure lounge too, no probs.
cheers

I always wear my glasses for flying as I find the air conditions dry my eyes and I dont like sleeping in them0

You can buy suitable size under (100ml+ under) solution in Specsavers.
Sidenote
The more I think of this the more these restrictions are ridiculous. You cant take a plastic bottle of water or that great weapon of mass destruction-shampoo, greater than 100ml thru, but once through security you could buy a glass litre bottle of flamible vodka that you could smash, use as a club or throw.
Who are our security services/government trying to kid.
Real terrorists must p155 themselves laughing.
Its all just a joke.0 -
i managed to some, went into my opticians and got a starter pack for a couple of quid, one 60ml in it.
this law is nonsense, you can't take it into airport but you can leave the airport with whatever you buy after customs.
kinda forcing your hand to "buy" at their prices0 -
I'm with scubaleopard. My eyes got VERY dry flying to Oz (as did my nose!). I occasionally wear contacts but wouldn't wear them flying long distances. Also I slept a lot of the way on the flight(s) there and back - so possibly another reason not to bother.0
