Halifax Clarity

I recently made an online application for a bank account and a clarity card back to back. For some reason the bank acc application was never received by the halifax so I called up and made an application over the phone. This is the 2nd time I have had to do this with a bank acc application with the halifax - both applications were never received. I'm starting to wonder if there is any truth in the rumour that Halifax automatically dump online applications from anyone who enters a scottish post code as they want them opening an account at BOS instead.
Obviously I was concerned that the same thing happened to the credit card application so I called customer services a few days later to check on it. The guy on the phone said that he could not find my application by using the reference number I supplied him nor could he find it using my name and address details. He did mention that they use a new system for processing credit card applications and that might be why the reference number is not working on his system so he transferred me to another department. When transferred there was a recorded message saying if the application is less than 14 days old that the advisers would not be able to assist and to wait until after this time had passed so I hung up.
Has anyone applied for a halifax clarity card recently? I'd like to know roughly how long it took for Halifax to come back with a yes or no.

Just realised I put this in the bank account section woops.
Sounds like I have another application gone walkabouts.
Does anyone think there might be some truth in the scottish post code theory?0 -
No. We are in Scotland and I have had no problem opening further Halifax accounts.
We have however been with Halifax for many years, and had our main current account with them since 2003.
We applied for a Clarity card each about 2 years ago, and like others, got an immediate decision after an on-line application.
OH also recently got a BOS card via on-line application.0
