Best Insurance for new driver who's 39

Hi,
My husband has just passed his test at the age of 39 on his first attempt. It only cost an extra £100 on my insurance as a named driver (I have full no claims, age 37)
Does anybody know the best insurance companies to get quotes from? Most of them are coming in about £700 full comp for an Audi a3 on an 04 plate.

If he had full NCD like you, then his £700 premium would be around £245.

So £700 sounds pretty good and in the ball park!

With zero no claims £700 sounds like a bargain...

Not always... Sometimes adding a named driver increases the price.

    Trial and error.

Do you mean the £100 was the additional cost while he was a learner, or it is the additional cost now he has passed?

Are you talking about a second car, insured in his name, or the same car shared by both of you?
