No 54 here.
I have been rubbish at posting this year but we have made OP's of £500 per month set up on a standing order. So now we have paid £2000 so far this year.
We've also bought the rest of our house which was on a part rent part buy scheme. Now we own the whole lot bar the mortgage which is roughly 25% of the property value.LBM Dec 10. Total unsecured debt £41176  Nov 12 Debt Free Thanks Mum x RIP x

Hello, £500 OP for May from me please, #123.
Hopefully do a small top-up at the end of the month depending on how much spare cash I have left.
Thanks Voucherman, and good luck everyone!MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0 -
No OP for me this month
because I need the cash for remortgage fees
Dumping the current 4.99% fixed that limited me to £499 OPs a month for a new 2.63% 5-year fixed that allows flexible OPs, drops the payment each month by £60, and I remortgaged for 15 years rather than the 18 the current one had to run, so it has cut three years off the mortgage too
I go backwards for a bit because of early redemption fees on the old mortgage, but break-even comes quickly enough and in the end it saves me almost £5k over letting the old mortgage run to conclusion.
Going to keep my OP target unchanged for this year, one month without an OP leaves a bit of catching up to do, but I reckon I should do it

Hi guys...got to double check tomorrow with the bank but i think this is the month we will be below £100,000 outstanding on the mortgage!!!
Ecoelle OP for May is £125 thanks:)0 -
I'm a bit late reporting for April but I hereby reduced my mortgage by £14287 last month :j
with miserable ISA rates and my mortgage rate increasing to almost 4% on the variable rate I decided not to put any money into savings but to plough it directly into mortgage as overpayments, hence the good month's total.
Mortgage now stands at just over £40k. My aim is to be about 30k by the end of May.
Enjoy the sunshine everyone! :cool:Mortgage free I: 8th December 2009!

Hi Voucherman,
Can you please put me down for an OP of £425, I'm #111. I finally stopped procastinating and did some meal plans after reading the eating out of the freezer thread (not convinced that's exactly what it was called......), and had a really tight month in order to really break the back of my credit card bill (which I wrongly convinced myself was fine as I paid in full each month, until I realised it was over £1000 each month and once I paid it I had no money left - vicious circle or what? And I thought I was quite good with money
Anyway, the short version of this is I seem to have a bit more cash this month after bills, so will see how I go and hopefully will make another OP by the end of the month. Uh-oh, now I've gone and said it I suppose I'm going to have to do it!!
Thanks Voucherman, and to all those on this and other threads who keep me motivated and offer real inspiration.#21 Save £12k in 2025 £25577.35/£200000 -
