Logged in via online banking to my mortgage account and realised that the balance hadn't reduced by much in 2012. Only about £4500. There are reasons for this such as mat leave- no OPs during that time and our wedding (drew down £2500 from OP reserve to help pay for it) but nevertheless was a bit disappointed and have promised myself a bigger reduction in 2013.
Just OPd another £218.40 to round it down and will make another OP after payday (tomorrow).
Next month we will have had a mortgage for 8 years. Started OPs in the second year- couldn't afford to in the first year. Still have not managed to half our mortgage. That will be achieved this year- I am determined. We are £9000 away from that goal and my MFW 2013 target is £10000 in OPs alone!2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013
