Have only managed to put £100 in the OP pot this month, but haven't taken it off the mortgage yet. Was thinking of letting it mount up to £500 so that I may reduce the term instead, as Nationwid* only let you reduce the term by £500 amounts. Does anyone know if doing it this way makes any difference?

I've finally been paid (after a year on maternity leave - it's lovely to have money coming in rather than only going out, but I'd so much rather be at home with my daughter rather than at work). So at long last, I've made an OP of 1000.
Hopefully, at some point I'll stop being miles behind my target!

  • Hi Voucherman, yes the new target of 12K I posted is correct. I'm making small regular overpayments at the moment, but I've done my sums and expect to make a much larger payment at the end of the year. Thanks.
