Rogue Paypal Payment

Ok, this is a strange one and I'm not sure whether I should be concerned or not yet
I've just checked my Paypal account and noticed that I have a failed transaction showing on 7th April yet I never made any transaction, well not to whoever this person/company is anyway, and the only other transaction I made that day went through fine. Even stranger is that the reason it failed is because it was an old card from my list that was used (and is no longer valid as it belongs to my previous bank) rather than my current default one.
Now I would have thought that if someone had hacked into my account then they would at least have used the right card to take payment from and would have tried for a larger amount (this was for £16) or when that failed gone back to try again?
I've never fallen for any of the spoof mails that obtain details and neither is it possible for anyone to know my password so I'm really puzzled over this one. I also don't recognise the name as anyone I've previously made a transaction to either.
Can anyone shed any light on this please?

Problem solved ... had another "payment failed" transaction this afternoon but this time I spotted the email in my junk folder (must have missed the last one) and it's for a subscription renewal that I'd forgotten all about
Would have been better if they'd emailed me to remind me of the renewal date though, rather than just take the money from Paypal, as I hadn't budgeted for that amount to be covered in my bank account had it gone through ok "An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"
