Few posters seem to know the cost of materials and they are going on about solid construction, when that might not be the most suitable solution.
Its ok having a couple of drawing but unless the full specifications are given then its not really clear if its what you would expect or not.
laminated MDF? you sure its not veneered mdf, possibly pre finished?, the wardrobe made of popular and MDF. Sprayed finishes.
The wardrobe fitted to the wall?, whats the configuration inside? its looks to be one large construction so could be issues with delivery.
Give the full specs then can break down the prices.0 -

Yes. Good point.
The office storage in fact is veneered MDF. Not sure what you mean by pre-finished. I went with oak-veneered MDF rather than solid oak as I was told it was less likely to warp. The main structure is 3.5cm (chunky). The shelves are 2cm. The size is 110cm wide x 180cm high. It's free-standing.
The wardrobes are (I think) paint sprayed MDF. Here is a bookcase he made for us previously, which I asked him to match. The wardrobe is pretty big: about 180cm x 180cm. Free-standing.
He builds in his workshop then constructs in the house.
Thank you for the tips on Ikea Billy, but I've had those in the past and haven't been impressed with the quality. I'd like to buy this for life. Is the quality of Jali good? I don't mind paying for quality, but I want to avoid overpaying!0 -

Solid Oak is stable unless you have very thin shelves (16mm) and its next to a heat source (ie Radiator etc). Solid Oak cornice etc and finished with Danish oil worked out at £1500 + vat.An Oak vaneered mdf (A&B grade) unit would be about £1,000 +vat max.I would personally make the shelves minimum 25mm thick and possibly lip the fronts as this will help with supporting heavy books etc as MDF is not great at supporting heavy objects etc and sags.
The materials would be around £180 (2 sheets of 19mm Oak Vaneered MDF is around £80, 1 sheet of 9mm Oak vaneered MDF £28-00 ,Solid brass Tonk adjustable shelving and clips £125-00 Material total £233-00.. Labour making £720-00..
Total £953-00 +vat If finished with Danish oil add £20-00 if spray finished add £150-00..

With regards to the wardrobe if constructed from MR MDF and Tulipwood ,single hanging rail to each section and ajustable shelving to one side, doors hung on BLUM hinges or traditional butt hinges would be around £1880-00 +vat and to have it sprayed finished in white or a colour 10% -90% gloss would add around £300-00+vat.
The office storage unit is way way overpriced.0 -

I'm not sure what your requirements for bookcases are, if you have a seriosuly large collection of books of differing sizes then you need to think carefully about whether you need adjustable shelving - I can't tell from the drawings whether those shelves are adjustable or not. I see IKEA Billy bookcases have been suggested. They have a non adjustable shelf in the middle to give them stability and this seriously limits the ability to position the other shelves.0
