Virgin Money or MBNA..

Options
Hi, i'm kinda new to all this. I've been searching the forum for details on how to claim back PPI but am stuck. I hear people talking about MBNA and how they've wrote to them. I had a card out with Virgin Money who have said they never sold anyone PPI but MBNA did. I was one of these victims of this.

Although i had the card with Virgin Money, they've put this statement on their website:

Virgin Money Credit Cards and Virgin Money Personal Loans - Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) Complaints Update
Several years ago Virgin Money decided we would not sell PPI products to our customers, either directly or through a Virgin Money branded PPI product sold by another bank. We did, however, agree that our partner, MBNA could sell its own PPI products to our customers, provided this was done in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Those laws and regulations have recently been clarified and we would like to draw our customers' attention to some important recent developments relating to PPI complaints. The British Bankers Association has announced it does not intend to appeal the outcome of the Judicial Review into the handling of PPI complaints. This means that those banks who have sold PPI products can now focus on assessing complaints from customers and paying out compensation, where appropriate.

The Virgin Money Credit Card and Virgin Money Personal Loan are issued by MBNA. For the reasons explained above, some of our credit card and personal loan customers may have been sold PPI products alongside their card or loan by MBNA. It is possible that some customers may have either an existing or new PPI complaint about an MBNA policy. If you believe you have a new complaint relating to an MBNA PPI policy sold alongside a Virgin Money Credit Card or Virgin Money Personal Loan, please contact MBNA at the address below or check their website. MBNA will explain what details they need from you in order to respond as quickly as possible. We should emphasise that we have no information to suggest that any particular customer has grounds for a complaint about MBNA.

If you have already made a complaint about PPI and have received a letter from MBNA advising that it could not respond until the outcome of the Judicial Review was known, we understand that MBNA will be writing to you shortly with its final decision.

Basically saying, contact MBNA for all complaints and problems.

So i think i get it, and i have the templates all written out but i just wanted to make sure i'm not wasting my time writing to MBNA if they say i have to go back through the credit card company (Virgin Money) in order to process the claim with them.

Sorry in advance if this all sounds dumb and straight forward but just wanted to make sure i'm doing this right. Many thanks again, in advance for any help or advice :)
