Manweb/scottish Power Knightmare

Ok here goes.......

In Feb 2000 I moved out of a flat and asked manweb for my final meter reading and gave my forwarding add to send bill to if I owed anything.

I never heard a thing from them so forgot all about it.

In 2005 I requested my Equifax Report cos I had been refused credit. I had a ccj I knew nothing about.

I investigated and found out it related to non payment of electricity!!!

Manweb had registered a ccj against me in feb 2003 against a property i had moved out of in july 2002.

I called them up and via wescot credit got to the bottom of the situation.

Basically whoever had moved in after me never registered and as mine was the last name on the account they billed me for practically a whole years power. Even though they have on record the date and time I called to tell them I was moving out and requesting the final reading!

In 2005 I proved via council tax records when my liability for the property ceased and they issued me with the final bill (5 years later) which I paid in full on receipt. I wrongly assumed that the problem had gone away at this stage.

I have applied for a new job at an investment bank and horror of horrors I still have a cjj which on face value it looks like I have ignored.

Various people at Manweb have agreed with me that this is unjust but I am really struggling to resolve this. If I can't resolve it asap I don't get to take up my new role and as I have already finished at my old place of work this is really stressing me out

They have been messing with me for 7 years now and enough is enough
