Removing pebbledash to expose brick

We're in the process of buying a house, it's an old house poss around the 1900 era
The rest of the terrace have lovely brick work, but at some point ours has had pebbledash applied.
I'm sure that lovely brick work is under there somewhere
Can pebbledash be removed?
Any pitfalls to be aware of?
Anything to watch out for if/when getting quotes for taking it off?

Best way is to tap the pebbledash with a hammer to see if it sounds loose , if it is hacking it off will be quite easy. If if sounds solid then removing it will be a serious hammer and chisel job and will leave a rough finish on the bricks. You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! The dash may have been applied in the first place because the brickwork was in poor condition or porous.
The vendor might know.Forgotten but not gone.0 -
My thoughts exactly.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
it will just have common brick behind it. It would have been a design feature when built. Why would any builder use good quality brick, then cover it up.A thankyou is payment enough .0

it will look pants & you will almost certainly end up putting it back onI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
You're all missing the point that the rest of the terrace has lovely brick work. No doubt the same lovely brick work that some pebbledash loving moron has covered up on this property0

no we aren't missing anything, you are
the other houses may have nice face brickwork but yours has been rendered & pebbledashed & by you removing the render you will wreak the face of the bricks & even if it does start coming off you will spend yrs cleaning the existing bricks & morter & it will never have the "lovely" brickwork your neighbours haveI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
