I wonder if someone can help me.
I had car accident 6 months ago at roundabout.
I was hit by motorbike and he claimed that it was my fault.
Although it was minor accident later he claimed total loss of the motorbike and even personal injuries.
All fraud allegations and clear scam as police came and saw there was no big damage and no ambulance was required.
Meanwhile Lawyers have been instructed and there is still no settlement.
My car insurance told me that in this case when it comes to renewal i should declare like it is my fault although i firmly believe it was not .
Is this right and will i loose my No claim bonus of 5 years.?
My current car insurance company send me email saying there will be no insuring my next year.
Can anyone help me.?

If your insurers are considering it as fault and your NCD was unprotected then you will have to declare 3 years NCD (you lose 2 for a fault claim).
Speak to the insurers in question and advise them of the situation and they may allow you to go back to 5 years if/ once its settled in your favour but a roundabout collision is unlikely to go 100% in your favour if the TP is disputing and there are no independent witnesses0 -
You need to establish why they won't offer to cover you any more.
This maybe a material matter you will need to disclose to any new insurer you approach, and failure to do so could mean a void policy.0 -
With regards to the "no longer insuring you" bit, this is down to their underwriting criteria.
The question "Have you been refused insurance" is for where someone does meet the underwriting criteria, but the insurer refuses for some other grounds like dishonesty.
With the claim, it remains a claim on your own policy until a full recovery is made, so it will need to be declared.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

The question "Have you been refused insurance" is for where someone does meet the underwriting criteria.........
The "question" is usually worded to include "renewal refused", eg: Morethan ask for this declaration be made for all to be covered by their policies:Have not been refused car insurance renewal or had a policy cancelled
Nothing from the OP's post says why his insurer is refusing to renew his policy, which is why he is advised to find out the reason for their refusal to renew!0 -
Well..i did ask..but they didn't give me any more information why i can not continue with them a-it has been 2 years with same company.
I can only assume it is the fact there was a claim, and claim is still not settled and third party is making all kind of false allegations.
I was even told that i can make claim against third party, but just have no time or energy to go through all this, specially considering there was no major damage on my car.
It is just the fact that it takes so long that is frustrating and knowledge that some people can come with false stories and try to rip off car insurance that makes me upset.0
