Car Insurance NCD question

My son had a bump last August, it was his fault! It was his first year of driving so when his policy needed renewing in November, he hadnt accrued any NCD. The question I would like to ask is...when is the twelve months up for him to earn his first NCD is it August, 12 months after his bump, or November, 12 months after he renewed? Thanks

His annual car insurance is from November to November and he has had a claim during that period. He will renew his insurance in November and provided he does not have a claim, then the following November he will have earned one years NCD.
You have to remember that car insurance is an annual contract and is offerred effectively 'new' each year.I have retired from a career in Financial Services........Thank God. Any advice given may be as a result of senile dementia so dont take it too seriously.......

It will be November. however when he renews this November he will have 0 no claims due to the claim. So as long as he has had no more claims by Nov 2008 he will have 1 years no claims thenBaby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0

The accident was in August 2006. So surely the NCD will be one year in November 2007 0 -
