It maybe due to the fact they have been made "aware" that you're making a fraudulent claim. Most of the time this is a malicious act by a neighbour or "friend" and no further action is taken. Or it maybe it's came to their attention you've been paid the wrong amount of benefit, which maybe in your or their favour.
Have you been told to take anything with you, other than identification?0 -

Hi
The DWP pull out a random sample of applicants for the CCT to check; there may be no indication at all of any concern with your application.
They claim that one aim is to ensure that people are getting all the benefit help they should be receiving but as you can see the misinformation in the answers you have already recevied, I suspect they want to freak a few people out unnecessarily. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

I don't think anyone has given anyone any misinformation, although of course you're post can easily fall into the misinformation category.
I for one clearly stated it "Maybe" I can't understand why some have to always take the moral highground. I only give facts I don't scaremonger or like some feel the need to score brownie points0 -

If your total savings are less than £6,000, then there is nothing to worry about. If they are more than this, you need to declare them (well you need to declare them under £6K, but they will not be interested). If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
