Lovely and quiet when they first open.

Still you pay you money and take your choice!

I'm surprised, I thought it would be very busy!

OP give the kids a filled stocking and some IOU's to be redeemed in the sales e.g. IOU a Barbie, and have a lovely family day out at the beginning of next year when you have been paid, snapping up the bargains and redeeming the IOU's. Try not to borrow too much. Younger kids are mostly interested in the sweets and more junk things, older kids with IOU's can always then negotiate something different if they don't like your original idea.

Not having a complaint has never, in my experience, stopped people from complaining :)

too many people spend too much time whingeing is my opinion.

I count myself lucky if I get paid early for Christmas.

I count myself lucky if I get a Christmas cash bonus as per last year.

I count myself lucky mostly getting Christmas week off - eg a shut down.

However all of the above 3 points are certainly not taken for granted or expected and I certainly did not get them in the past.

I just get fed up with people feeling entitled and then making some half hearted gripe/complaint.

George Osborne has pointed out we're in austerity straits for next 5 years in UK so put up or shut up!

I believe the company in question are now paying their shop employees on Christmas eve, not sure about their drivers or factory staff though.
