I live in MK and have children & can't remember ever having seen discount vouchers for Gullivers. They don't do special deals for Birthdays, schools, cubs, brownies or anything else.

They are also the only local amenity which don't give family tickets to local schools for fund raising events unlike the far more generous Bletchley Park, Woburn Safari Park, Whipsnade Zoo, Mead Farm, Bucks Goat Centre, Planet Ice and many others.

They only give a letter saying 1 child free with a full payer which for a family of 4 means 3 pay full price. They are the least community concious of all the attractions.

The website below is run by the 'city' council and has everything about MK on it - from days out for children to relocating to MK (incl properties for sale)

    http://www.mkweb.co.uk

This bit's for Jockett (and anyone else interested in childrens days out) -

On the right hand side of the page below are links to all the local attractions

An MK MSE get together sounds good to me
  • Have you had a look at any of the new builds yet?

I've lived in MK 7 years Tattenhoe, Downhead Park, and moving to Shenley Lodge on Friday. The one thing you have to is get a map of MK that is published by the council, don't know the colour for this year, last year it was pink, it is the only map that is worthwhile, it shows roads that haven't been built yet! Available in most local shops and Smiths.

The one thing about moving to MK is that your definition of bad traffic changes, the town (not a city yet  ) is deceptively large, it's 7 miles from my house in Downhead Park to my Grandfathers in Tattenhoe, and in rush hour it might take 15 minutes, usually 10-11min. I mean the other day traffic was terrible, there were 10 cars in front of me at a roundabout! Shocking!

IF you are working in CMK you can get a parking pass via your employer for parking in standard rate parking bays, that is half price 10p per hour vs. 20 per hour.

You'll love living here, the counttry is divided into those who take the P out of MK and those who live here.
Unless it is damaged or discontinued - ignore any discount of over 25%

Wow, what a week I had!

I don't think I mentioned it before but the reason why we were moving to MK was my husband found a job over there. Well, his current company made him a counter offer that basically we couldn't refuse. So this mean that we are no longer moving to MK. It's a shame because I really was getting used to the idea of living there.
However, accepting the counter offer might mean moving somewhere else too. But it won't be to MK unfortunately, this time it will be somewhere near Heathrow. So I might create a new thread when we know more.

Anyway I just wanted to thank everyone who replied to my questions. You were all very helpful. Being your neighbour would have been a real pleasure. But, hey, that's life!

    Thanks a lot for everything

    Caro.

I know it's horrendous. I had a quick look on rightmove.co.uk and I couldn't believe my eyes. It's so expensive over there. :(
I am starting to think that the best solution is not to move at all.
