in Credit cards
So a quick run down off me as I stand.
I'm 18 and work as an apprentice for an accountancy firm, have done for the past 4 months. Before that I worked as a cleaner whilst studying my A-levels, I did that for about two years on and off (semi-causal kind of work, it was a weird set up)
About two months ago I was going to be placing a considerable order with play.com so I decided to apply for a store card with them to benefit from the 0% intro rate. I got turned down which isn't unexpected because the only history I have is my contract phone which I got on the sly ( I had a visa electron card at the time and the guy said he couldn't accept them but he had turned loads of people away that day for that reason and was annoyed at doing so. Either way he 'fixed' it and I got a phone for which I haven't missed a payment for in over a year )
*shrug* These things happen, however I was recently idling in these forums when I decided to just curiously check my credit history. I was going to check two sites but I started with noodle. Just after I put my bank details in to verify my identity it says it can't verify me.
As far as I know i'm on the electoral roll. ( I received a voting slip for the police commissioner election recently ) and I have lived in this house for just over 3 years.
I just wonder if it's Noodle in the wrong before I go throwing money at Experian or is it something missing out on ?
If it matters at all my parents have a less than peachy credit history and I still live with them (where less than peachy means awful)
Sorry if this doesn't make too much sense and if you need more information just tell me
Thanks in advance!

Hi
Your parent's credit history won't be impacting on you.
Your phone contract could cause an issue - do you know if the credit application was made with a false date of birth?
Its not massively unsual not to be able to be verified on noddle online. You could try the free experian check (cancel within 30days to not be charged). Or could try applying for the £2 statutory report in the post (which is often easier, as they are verifying its you by sending it to your known postal address).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Hi, thanks for the reply.
I think what he did was change my card type from Electron to MasterCard.
Is it a big issue? Should I go update my card since I now just have a current account as opposed to the kids cash account I had before. Now I have a normal Visa debit card?
I'll give experian a try.
Thanks!0 -
Guess I just jumped the gun.
Account accepted with Experian
Just ignore this skittish teenager who overacted :P0
