Farm Shops

Hello

I live in South Wales and use these boards regularly so I'd like to receive your advice on local farm shops.

I used to buy all my meats and other items from farm shops but have recently moved to the Blackwood/Caerphilly area. I work in Cardiff so distance is not an option.

Can you recommend some good farm shops to pick up things like Steaks, chicken, joints etc and right now a Turkey

It's not a farm shop but I've had Ace Meats on the Duffryn Estate (just outside Ystrad Mynach) recommended to me, although I admit I'm yet to personal try them

Can't believe that nobody has mentioned the excellent Farmers Markets that abound around the Cardiff area

Roath, Cardiff Saturdays 9.30 - 13.00
Riverside, Cardiff Sundays 10-13.00

There are also markets in Cowbridge and various other venues

There's a farm shop in Tiryberth, on the main road just opposite and down a bit from Essanay. There's also a good farm fop just off the roundabout at the top of Nantgarw hill in Caerphilly (turn off the roundabout as if you're heading for the mountain). Ace meats in Ystrad always used to be really good, although I haven't been for years. I also saw this morning a van with "Riverford. organic farm food delivery" on it. They deliver to your home!
