iPhone 5 not ringing

I've had my iPhone about a week. I made a custom ringtone and had it work for 1 phone call. Then it didn't work after that, so I thought I'll delete them and use the default until I can sort it out. But now the default ringtones loaded onto the phone are no longer working! My phone doesn't ring at all anymore, no alerts, no message tones, no ring tone.

Any suggestions? If not I'll have to go to an Apple Store or a 3 Store and ask them.

And no it's not on silent! Unless there's a secret silent setting somewhere!

Even the noise when you lock your phone doesn't work. It's not the speaker because it can play the ringtones when I go to select them.

Backup contacts etc to itunes, then reset the phone.

Have you checked the 'mute' switch by the volume buttons? That one caught my mum out this week!!!
