how do you know it's been hacked?0

The password won't work so when you ask to change your password, it asks you your secret question. Except it doesn't, the question is different to the one you selected when you started your account. Daughter's friend was hacked too, someone she knew (her uncle I think) knew what had happened so he hacked into the 'stolen' account and changed it back for her. Trouble is no-one will tell me how to do it.Bulletproof0

do a search on yahoo/google for 'how to hack msn account'
plenty of ideas listed, i have no idea if any work.
but it would seem that hotmail does have a problem with being easily tricked....smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

Will try that, thanks robnyeBulletproof0

hotmail/msn/yahoo are the easiest accounts to hack
trust me, i know! and yes, the hackers can read and reply to all emails sent to you.
i am in no circumstances going to say how to do it because its just not nice, but my advice is simply do not use it.
if you want to use email then use your email address you get with your isp - its safer than any free web based email.
if you MUST use hotmail etc then some simple security measures to take are:
if you use your hotmail during any computer session, clear your cookies and internet history after your computing session
if you get any emails that open up into what looks like the hotmail/msn/yahoo log in page DO NOT enter your password when requested. chances are its a spoof email and when you enter your password it is sent to the person who sent the email.0 -

I use the e-mail from my ISP mostly, but my daughter is on MSN messenger a lot with her friends, that's why she's got her hotmail account ::)Bulletproof0 -
Does having a firewall help this at all, i know yahoo is web based but i just wondered?0
-
no is the simple answer.
a firewall protects your computer only so will not protect you getting viruses on a web based email account0 -
I have never had any problems with this at all, not me or anyone I know. I think mainly don't give out you password to anyone and don't save it on your computer either, which is a bit over kill I know but it's always worked for me, a bit late for your daughter I know but if she does get back into her account get her to do that.Nice to save.0
