New Laptop, which one?!

Hi all,

I'm going to buy a new laptop and would like your opinion on these two:

http://www.very.co.uk/samsung-np535u3c-a02uk-amd-a6-processor-6gb-500gb-133-inch-ultra-thin-laptop---silver/1165555356.prd?browseToken=%2fb%2f1225%2c4873%2fr%2f100

or

I sometimes watch skygo on my laptop and was considering buying Football manager to play on it. Other than that I just use it for the internet.

The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae we do not raed ervey lteter by it slef but the wrod as a wlohe.

    Hi.

Laptop buying is a minefield! I had a look at the two laptops you mentioned but a laptop buying is dependent on what you're actually going to use it for.

There is a thread titled 'Help choosing a laptp /i pad /tablet please' and one of the laptops you mentioned was showing here with a free Samsung galaxy note

    http://www.hotukdeals.com/search?act...sung+ultrabook

I read the reviews for the laptop on Amazon and not all were favourable. Both processors - AMD A6 and B970 - are old ones with AMD A10 and i3-i5-i7 being more upto date.

Anyhow, I think it's best that you say what you'll be using the laptop for and then maybe you may get more responses?
    :j I hope my comment helps :T

You have picked a 13.3 screen and a 17 screen there is a world of difference in weight etc, are you fixed on buying from Very because the first one is £25 more expensive than at various other places ?

You should check the minimum spec required to run the football game you fancy and I presume Skygo runs on the internet so anything on that list will be fine that is at least as high spec as the min spec required for the game...

You should be able to get what you need under £400 even from Very....in order of processsor power lowest is Celeron, then Pentium Dual core, followed by Core i3, i5 i7...you really don't need core i5 or i7 but core i3 would be good and the latest i3 is better than the previous i3 on graphics etc so Intel® Core™ i3-3110 processor would be better than® Core™ i3-2328M.

Windows 8 has just been launched and whilst it's a good Operating system(OS) it is really optimised for touch devices like tablets so if a Win 7 model is available for less I would go for it, not checked all the specs...anyway if you want win8 you can get it cheap or even free on many devices with a new PC purchase and a bit of downloading ...

I've said in my previous post that that laptop is one that I would buy.

Yes they are Windows 7 laptops (from Very) but it should only be an extra £14.99 if you want to upgrade to Windows 8 (which sounds like a simple process. If you get stuck there are loads of lovely helpful people on here - MSE- who will help you to upgrade).
