Buying cheap bubble wrap?

Does anyone have experience of buying bubble wrap and what the quality is like at different prices? On ebay you can find 100 metres x 500mm for around a tenner delivered, but I guess the chances are it is going to be very thin.
For decent quality what kind of prices would you expect to pay. I am looking to buy at least 100 metres as I am selling items on ebay and moving home as well so need to have plenty of the stuff for packaging. I don't want to wrap furniture in bubble wrap and find the removal men still manage to scratch it through the bubble wrap.
Also, what brand names apart from Jiffy are know for their quality? Any other websites apart from ebay for this kind of stuff??

For the furniture have you thought about foam wrap/jiffy foam? I would choose this in preference to bubble wrap. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

They should also be insured against damage.
You may find that, if you wrap the furniture yourself and it gets damaged, that they blame you for inadequately protecting it.
Perhaps you should clarify with the firm exactly what should be done.
When we moved home last year the removal firm did all our packing for us. it wasn't that expensive and they did a very good job.0 -
I buy most of my packaging from this company http://www.defendapack.co.uk/bubble_wrap.htm as they sell short lengths you could buy one to check quality first before buying the 100m you want or even ask them if they can send a sample. They accept Paypal and also sell on Ebay but the prices are higher.0

I got a lot of mine from Poundland, but I guess if you need a lot then this might not work out too cheap in the end0

I'll echo Poundland. Comes in rolls of a couple of metres. I got through quite a few when I last moved.Because it's fun to have money!

If it is more likely to stop scratches or dings on the furniture then I'll probably get it in preference to bubble wrap. I thought bubble wrap would cushion bigger items against any impact if they are dropped, or hit against edges etc.chemical.galaxy wrote: »I like the 'cush n air' brand
That's not too expensive on ebay. Does it feel like it is on the thick side for bubble wrap - with big bubbles? If it is I will probably go with your suggestion. I am guessing that most of the no name brands on ebay are probably paper thin.0 -
I would pay good money to watch someone wrap a sofa in bubble wrap. I've moved a dozen times in my working life and it's never occured to me.0

Try soundswholesale on Ebay, the use genuine JIFFY bubble, which is very good value.0
