Chrome not working?

I do have a dying computer on my hands so I'm not sure if this is my computer or if it's Chrome itself. But I've got IE up and running and that seems to be doing everything Chrome cannot (which is just about everything at the moment).

Pages keep freezing, or just not responding to my clicking on the scroll tab or trying to open Gmail messages. However, my bookmarks are on Chrome and I'd kind of like to access them!

Is this happening to anyone else? I can't seem to even report anything to Chrome because I don't even get the "aw snap!" pop ups!

Why don`t you import all your bookmarks to IE and uninstall chrome.
I`ve been using chrome for about a year but recently noticed it`s been slow and pages not loading as before.
  • Recent version of chrome has been slow for me also. Switched back over to firefox and all seems to be fine now :)

So it's not just me :( I still find though IE freezes far more then Chrome (although having said that, I cannot use Chrome today). Was hoping it was my computer and I'd be able to fix it by kicking the thing in to touch in some way.

Download this for free and give your PC a clean up.
  • May well be your pc. without more info i cannot tell. I know chrome can be a massive resource hog. How old is your pc? How much ram?

My PC is 5 years old now- but it was apparently quite dated when I did get it. I had no idea on what I was doing and Dell sold me a PC that when I mentioned to others in the know, seemed to get sniggers from.

Its a Dimension C521, its had space added to it about a year ago by a friend and at the moment stands as 1GB.

It runs on Vista 32-bit (again another space-hog, I know!) and the processor is 3400 + 1.8GHz and has a rating of 2.2. I am hoping to get a better model (thanks to a friend) after the new year but at the moment I'm stuck with this PC. It does have many glitches all the time and although things like cleaning and defragging do help, after about 24 hours it then goes back to it's old ways as if nothing has happened.
  • Might be worth looking for a lightweight web browser to get you through till your new pc, midori or k-meleon come to mind. Search for those on google, i cant post links just yet :)
