Parking Eye - Tactics and advice

Just received Parking Eye notice as registered keeper for £100 (£60 discount) for 38 minute overstay at shopping complex no charge, free car park which is well signed for 3 hour max stay.
After carefully looking at threads and posts I intend to IGNORE and not reply or enter into any communication.
If you have had experience of Parking Eye and have used this or other tactics I would appreciate hearing your experience.
Thanks

Just do a search on here for parking eye and you will see plenty of advice on them. The tactic of ignore is a proven and effective way to deal with them, providing you are the RK of the vehicle in question. They will send you a series of letters with outlandish threats, it's very unlikely they will follow through with them, it's so rare that a lottery jackpot win would be easier to get.

They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
  • Thanks.
I did think of not opening any of their further letters(I will recognise the envelope) -crossing out my address and scrawling "Return to Sender" on the envelope and posting. Good idea?

I would keep them if I was you, the reason is that it may encourage them to issue a claim believing they will get a default judgement on you, just file them away and ignore.

    Nope!

    That could encourage them.

Leave them in the dark - give them no response at all. At the moment they don't even know if the data they bought from the DVLA is correct.

    Continue to ignore.

A default judgement would normally mean a non defended small claim, some parking companies look for letters returned as an opportunity to issue a claim there.

And , as is usual with bullies, if you stand up to them and say "see me in court" they will back off and disappear under the stone from whence they came.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • This is all really helpful. Has anyone received a "invoice" from Parking Eye?
What was the final outcome and how long did it take?

I already told you in post #2 about doing a search on parking eye, so you can see that it's not just us advising you to ignore, here is a simple search on google that has links to other forums with the same advice, particularly pepipoo and cag
