i've worn a black dress to a wedding before - had a purple wrap and i was happy with it!

you can do a lot worse than picking a dark colour - at a wedding recently someone came into a church in a tiny mini skirt, knee high boots and fish net tights..... not the best look for the occasion but may have made the priests day!
