Hi,
Its a while ago now since i changed over from Hotmail to Gmail but at that time i do remember reading something to do with the type of email server hotmail uses (cant remember the details exactly) which meant you cant set up gmail (or hotmail) directly to forward emails from hotmail to gmail account.
At that time i found a little application called GetMail which runs on your taskbar and automatically and periodically forwards email from hotmail (and others) to another email account.

Only problem with this is it only works when your logged into the pc that its installed on, so for example if your away on business or holidays and check your gmail account the hotmail emails wont be forwarded unless your pc is running .0 -
thanks for the advice mickmack, will give getmail a try.0
