1st house - Buildings+Contents - Setup with someone else?

Hi there - our mortgage broker provided a quote that he said we could use on exchange but its about £110 more than one that I have found online. The insurance I've found is more than enough and is with Nationwide themselves (who the mortgage will also be with) so that side of things I am happy with.

What I am unsure of is how to keep everything moving and pick our own! We had a letter today along with our mortgage deeds to sign etc. At the moment we don't have an exchange date but we have a form to fill in asking things like our policy number and quotes about placing the buildings insurance 'on risk'.

Can anyone pass on a past experience on the best way to do this?

Thanks :)

Get an exchange date off your broker/solicitor, if they dont have one then dont worry about it, you are too far off for that to hold things up.

What would you right on this form?

Leave it and just send the rest back? Or write on it that we will take out with Nationwide nearer the time?

Call the solicitors and tell them, they will probablyy tell you to just send it back and sort the insurance out closer to the time.
