    hi
my boyfriend fits laminate and wood flooring for a living and he leaves a 5 - 10 mm gap and have you thought about using white scotia as it will match skirtings. skirting can come off but be careful not to damage walls in process. new skirtings are trickie to fit as mitreing the corners are a nightmare!
    hope this helps.

Probably won't help, now you've started, but...

We used plastic spacers & offcuts of board to keep the line away from the wall.

& if you can remove the skirting, it'll be neater than using the trim they sell to hide the space (we didn't use any cork), 'cos the new & it's cheap enough to replace, rather than re-use, skirting will conceal the gap much nicer.

& my back will be playing up again, when you need some more help, in the lounge - sorry about that!!

    Again, probably too late..........

use spacers to give a 7 -10mm gap.......that should be plenty...........cork is used on hard wood gaps, not laminate.

Chop saw would have been better than table saw, and a jigsaw for long cuts with laminate blade. With the chop saw option you could use to mitre new skirting or the beading.

Undercut doorways to make a neat finish.

Lay longways towards a window for better effect on joins, although personal room preference shoud take precident. If loacl in midlands, i would have no worries popping along to help :)

When i did laminate i had this issue (the gap thing) especially around when i cut radiator holes. i was going to put the round caps you can buy, but my cutting wasnt that great and ended up with a small gap (also 1 1-2mm), i used some laminate filler that you can get for holes and cracks / chips in the laminate. Worked well for me
