money has always burnt a hole in my pocket
i have came into a bit of inheritance after losing my mother which i would gladly give it all back to have her back here.
she left me £45,000 but in which i had to give my aunt 3.5k as my mam owed her it.
my daughter who is 5 days old
7k as my 1 year old son has the same amount i have just opened a junior isa for them each which i will deposit the 7k in each from now and April next year, then i will deposit £20pcm in one of there accounts and my gf deposit into the other.
i had to pay 4k of my car loan which was in her name as it came out of an account for my step dad.
i contributed £1200 towards her funeral, and paid off my setee £685, and two cataloges with £485 between them.
i have lent my gf 3k to pay her debts as they were very high interest and its safer owing it to me and we can concentrate on getting her credit rating improved.
i have spent £1600 on treating me family to gifts new things for house and days out ect and i am left with a total of £23500 which i have just locked away for one year in Barclays fixed rate bond, i know it is not the greatest bond with the interest but i just wanted to see how i managed having it locked away.
i will see a return off £379 over the year and then i will consider the higher rate longer term 5 year fixed bonds and then use the money for a deposit on my next home.
i have started a xmas savers at work of £50 pcm that comes directly out my pay all though i don't earn interest as everyone's money gathered and the interest made goes to charity, but it means i have minimum off £500 for xmas next year.
i have a 17.5lt water dispenser bottle with all y copper in but in all honesty i have had it about 6 year and its only a third full lol i am working on it tho.
i have a tall biscuit tin what i collect all my 5s 10s 20s in and i have just started saving £2 coins in one of them tins u need to open with the tin opener.
so at the minute all is good we are still currently paying off a holiday to mexico, we are going in august 2013 and once thats paid off we will be much better off per month.
i am also using a car scheme from work (nissan) were i rent one of them and all i pay is the amount it is then i just fuel it, no tax, mots, servicing or breakdowns to worry about.
i am getting a tekna qasqai for £202pcm and my gf is getting a note ntec+ for £137pcm.
we were paying £150pcm just to insure our two current cars.
sorry to blabber on i just wanted to give yous my info and background as i plan on being around these boards a lot more as i want to dsave lots of ££££'s lol
thanks for looking.
