I have had this problem with roast and slow cooked chicken but I am convinced they both had adequate time and the conclusion I have reached having googled the situation is that chickens slaughtered these days don't have the blood drained and it seeps out of the bone as you cook it.

OK it is small but it was reduced and living alone, I found a pressure cooker that works in a...microwave for £2.99...it might just do the trick.
