Balance transfer problem

Hi everyone!

Hope we are well!

Just a bit of advise please, applied for a Barclaycard 0% balance transfer which was to transfer to my current account to pay off a catalog on which my BNPL is due in a couple of months.
I checked all the details and saw that Barclaycard offered to transfer to a current account. Applied and got it! :) Smiles all round for about an hour when I called them to ask them about the transfer and they said no :( only to CC and Store cards.

Now this is no use to me and I was quite suprised to get that, I have an avarage credit I think, defaulted about 6 years ago and now have an account with Very £1400 credit used £400 which it what I'm trying to pay off, Next £1000 with £100 on it. And a phone contract and have never not paid.

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on cards that they think will work for me or any other way round with Barclaycard?

Any help would be great :)

Barclaycard seem to rarely offer this feature on new accounts.
Cards that do offer it are cards Post Office cards and cards backed by MBNA group, such as Virgin. There is a useful list here http://www.stoozing.com/sbt.php

Does the card you have applied for offer 0% on purchases for a period? If so sould you do all your normal day to day spending and perhaps xmas spending etc with the new credit card and use the money not spent from the debit card to repay the other debts.
A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give

You'll need another card that you can use for all of your spending and then shift the balance to the Barclaycard. Or use someone else who has a CC and pays their balance in full each month - they pay you cash rather than pay their monthly balance and you transfer from their CC
  • Thanks for both your replies!

I was gonna pay off the debt with my partners CC and then balance transfer from the Barclaycard to pay that off! Seems like the best way.

    Or apply for another card.......
Anything to lower the APR on my catalog 39.9 :O Shocking!

    Thanks again!
