How many supermarkets do you visit regularly ?

LIDL - always get my washing-up liquid from there - the orange anti-bacterial one. I have sensitive skin & most liquid affects it but this one doesn't seem to.
Also go for their Christmas spice biscuits & other Christmas bits like panettone - as soon as they have them in, I'll make a visit.
And their Amazonas chocolate - usually I prefer a darker one but I love the taste of this.
Waitrose - this seems to be the only place I can get the Paul Rankin barm brack.
My mum loves their rotisserie chicken so I often get my mum a cooked breast of chicken from them. They will always cut open a freshly roasted one if they don't have a breast already done. Whereas other supermarkets, have told me that due to H&S regs they are not allowed to cut the chickens open. I don't know how true that is since Waitrose can do it.
Also, they used to have the largest navel oranges I've seen outside of the market. Last year they didn't have them but my husband is hoping they'll be back this winter.
Their Cornish Quartz cheese - love it.
Sainsbury - their decaffinated coffee in individual filters. A friend drinks these & it works out cheaper for me to get them like that as I only rarely see her & the box is finished in no time.0 -
Surprised at how many people shop at M & S! My perception of M & S (maybe wrongly) is that it's very expensive. Our closest one is in our main town so it isn't somewhere I would shop anyway. But obviously people living in and around London, have more stores to choose from.
It depends what you buy really, but I don't notice any significant price difference here to other supermarkets.
Some things are really good value, e.g. bananas are usually priced around 68p/kg which is around the same as the last time I checked in Lidl. Much cheaper than my local Tesco (Express) which prices per banana instead of by weight. The meal deals are often excellent, I usually buy them when there's a whole chicken. Best so far was the roast meal deal (joint plus two sides for £5) where I found a chicken with a sticker price of over £6 in there. So I got it at a good discount, plus some bonus veg!
ETA: They also have the best yellow stickers of the stores around me, lots of items go down to 10p at the end of the day. Not food, but even got a huge bouquet of roses (over £10 easily, think it may have even been £20) marked down to 50p once. They were still perfect and lasted a week.0
