Bloomin Rubbish

I had a similar experience to a previous writer but instead of the bouquet not being delivered, it was the wrong one.
I specifically ordered their freesia bouquet and paid for the extra 30% and also chocolates because my friend, who lives many miles away from me, was going through a rough time. Had I wanted the mixed bunch of flowers that were delivered, I would have ordered a mixed bunch but freesia have a very special meaning to my friend and I.
I contacted Bloomin Delightful to inform them of their mistake and was asked to take a photograph of the wrong bouquet. I explained that the recipient was in her mid sixties and not very well without a camera 'phone and was non computer literate. The only way she could take a photograph was by buying a spool and using her old 35mm camera. She would then have had to take a bus into town to have the photograph developed and then post it off to Bloomin Delightful. Hardly the pick-me-up, for my friend, I had envisaged.
I then received an other email saying that it was in their terms and conditions that they can basically deliver anything as long as it is of the same value. I only hope they don't provide funeral flowers. I dread to think what you might get instead of white lilies.
I see ordering flowers no different from ordering anything else online. You wouldn't order a TV and accept a washing machine because it was of the same value, therefore why should Bloomin Delightful get away with it because it is in their small print. A quick email to me explaining that the didn't have freesias available would have been the least I would have expected and given me the opportunity to go elsewhere. Also, it is not difficult to have the facility on their web site to mark items 'out of stock' until fresh supplies arrive to avoid upsetting customers but, having read some of the other reviews, they obviously don't care.

Report them to Trading Standards. Unless they have a 'Blooming' great huge disclaimer on the site explaining that some flowers are 'seasonal'! Unless you know that you cannot get Freesias in Nov/Dec you would obviously think that if the Freesia arrangement is on the website it will be available! Misleading advertising methinks?
and thier customer service seems to leave a lot to be desired........the least they could have done was to ask you what other flowers would be acceptable and deliver those free of charge!0 -
they're obviously not concerned about staying in business then ?
There are dozens of companies selling flower and gifts deliveries nowadays, reputations are important especially when trying to sell luxury goods (which this is) in the current economic climate.
I don't like any company that demonstrates this "don't care" attitude about the paying customer, but with this sort of service they have complete control and if they mess it up it's too late, the moment/celebration/event has passed.
