Why not complain to the neighbourhood policing team? Unfortunately most council officers come pre-programmed with excuses for not doing their job.
  • Not sure why you think it's a police matter... ?

I've been to the council noise and pollution team who tried to help but they have passed it to planning enforcement because the problem relates to the condition that is attached to the planning decision given 6 years ago.

Because they are causing a nuisance.
Disturbing the peace... or something like that.

Doesn't that make it a police matter?

Exactly, and it's precisely how a similar problem was dealt with in this area.
  • Have sent a letter to the planning officer and CC'd it to a councillor and filled them in with what's been going on.
  • You really need to get your Councillor to do all the 'chasing' of the council for you.

I worked for one for several years in a few different depts. They all had the same attitude, you can pretty much give the public the runaround but if a councillor says "jump", our response MUST BE "how high".

All their letters, emails, phone calls, requests for action or further investigation took precedence over everything else and they pretty much had to be obeyed!
  • I've worked for the council so I know all the tricks ;-)

Any time I've left something in a councillor's hands it has taken them weeks. I seem to be getting somewhere now - there's going to be a timer on the lights on the site so that will stop people using it (it's pitch black without them).
