this would eb an acceptable base http://www.dinopc.com/shop/pc/configurePrd.asp?idproduct=1571

having a quick play around with the spec i would
up the motherboard to the M-LX to get a SATA3 port
up the graphics card to a 7770
up the monitor to the LG ips one
up the case to the fratal design or the asgrad one
up the PSU to the 500w xigamatek one

this brings to system to roughly £680 plus £25 for delivery so to your basic £700 budget (you could up the hard drive to 1tb but thats another £15 so is starting to creep above your budget)

ok it hasnt got a SSD which are a very nice adition, but would take too much out of the budget that you would have to compromise elsewhere which i dont feel would be worth it, this also leaves the SSD option as a future upgrade that you have spoken about

ACTUAULLY SCRUB THE ABOVE http://www.dinopc.com/shop/pc/configurePrd.asp?idproduct=1454 is basically the same as the above spec but has the SSD included!
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

Thanks Cisco. I've had a look. That's a good price even with the customization.

Thanks Gonzo. I'm trying to keep costs down though!

Just a heads up, don't be too concerned about the graphics card for Minecraft. It's a processor and memory intensive game.

Which rules out options 2 and 4. Personally I'd lean towards the Lenovo.

Thanks - that's what I needed to know.

I like the Lenovo too:j but, they're not great on customer service and, if anything goes wrong after the 1 year guarantee, they'd be a pain to deal with and expensive to phone (as they're not based in the UK).

I've just added in option 5. Would that play Minecraft nicely? I admit though, I'm looking at the one on Overclockers that Cisco & Gonzo linked me to.
