Probate - all executors apply, or some take power reserved?

Hi,
Myself and a relative have been appointed as Executors. Looking at Probate Application Form PA1, I see that we can either:
- both jointly apply for the Grant of Probate
- one of us applies, and the other takes the 'Power Reserved' option
Is there any disadvantage for both of us to apply jointly, or does that make some things more complicated?
Cheers for any info

It means you both have to sign many of the important documents
This can be a small problem and inconvenient if you don't live near each other and can both get to the docs tou end up posting hem to each other.
You can still share the work if only one of you does the job.
If there is the posibility of issues with any of the benifitiaries having both of you may give more weight as you can legaly back each other.0 -

Does that apply to things like dealing with the Land Registry to change ownership of property, etc?0 -
The one that takes on the task needs to sign all the docs.
The other person can write the letters, fill in the forms etc. for the other to sign.
So you can split most of the work just not the signing of the docs.
Make sure you get a few certified copies of the grant it makes life easier, we had one of ours damaged in transit.0
