edf compensation amounts
I have had a dodgy 20:20 meter with edf
which i believe has been faulty for over 3 years. edf has finally changed it and calculated £78 over charging(roughly).
i had made numerous complaints that the meter was faulty and fobbed off til taken seriously 6months later. i have now asked for compensation and wondered if anyone else had been offered any amount of compensation for any complaint. Edf are coming back to me with an amount, just wondered how much i should ask for?

You only needed to wait 8 weeks from the first initial complaint to take the matter to the ombudsman.I have had a dodgy 20:20 meter with edf

I don't know why you have allowed this to continue for 3 years
Don't expect any compo. You might get say £20 goodwill payment if they like you.0 -
I personally wouldn't rely on EDF's calculation of how much they've overcharged you! Have a read of a few threads on here about how they estimate usage for direct debit calculations and you'll see its a rather "opaque" process. At the very least I'd ask for a detailed breakdown of how they got to that figure! Frankly if its been dodgy enough for you to notice it and for them to change it, its likely to be more than £78 out over 3 years!Adventure before Dementia!0

Compensation is supposed to be based on the actual losses you have suffered. Plus maybe a small amount for the inconvenience and the time spent getting it sorted out. Not just a figure plucked out of the air. If you cannot actually quantify those costs yourself, then maybe you are not owed anything at all?No free lunch, and no free laptop
