I don't know if this is the best place to ask but here goes,

I'm thinking of setting up a Gmail address, can I use it with Virgin Media BB, are there any problems setting it up?

Cheers for the quick reply, the reason I'm asking is that I thought I'd seen somewhere that some isps, by whatever means tried to make it difficult to use.

Also is it one of the best or are there others worth considering?

it's the one I get least spam on, and i can pick it up using outlook expresss

I have various gmail accounts and use them on Virgin Broadband with absolutely no problems.

Remember the SPAM workround for G mail

In gmail click on settings then filters then create a new filter. In the box that says 'has the words' type is:spam ,then click on next step. You will get an error message but ignore it and press OK. On the next page put a tick in 'Delete it' and a tick in Also apply filter to x conversations below (that will only show up if you have any spam in the folder). Then click on create filter. Job done, emails identified as spam will now automatically go into the trash folder and as that doesn't have a counter won't show up. Alan.

Gmail will also now pick up mail from any other account, it collects all my Virgin emails and you can also send mail from Gmail in your Virgin account name.

In addition Gmail provides you with free word processing/spreadsheets and online document storage.

It's a great email service with loads of extras.

Thanks to you all for the replies, I think I now feel able to go ahead and get setup.
I think it's going to be more than adequate for my few emails.

BTW I'm doing it because of the emails I lost when on dialup with fast4/Biscit ,who finally went under. YIPPEE!!
