Feedback not yet received

Hi. I bought an item from Ebay, about a month ago. It was buy it now. It was lovely and arrived very quick and so I left positive feedback saying so, very soon after.
I can see the seller is a business/shop thing and I wondered if that meant that they don't always have to leave feedback for a buyer. I would imagine they are busy, and so it may take a while but its a month now. I have only bought or sold 13 items over the years I have been on Ebay so I notice when I haven't recieved any feedback!
Thanks for any advice!

A lot of people don't leave feedback. As a buyer you really don't need any, so maybe in future wait until they leave it for you as that might mean they leave it first

Don't get hung up on buyer feedback. It's not something you get elsewhere - and it means very little. I'm not convinced it should really exist. It causes more trouble than it's worth.

Without it people wouldn't get so anxious about new buyers, they wouldn't feel it appropriate to leave passive-aggressive or abusive remarks, they'd probably find more effective ways of reporting non-payers and so on. Worrying about being labelled an INR scammer when something doesn't turn up would also end. eBay would be a better place all round.

  • Snackjack,
If they are a big seller, they may leave feedback periodically in large chunks. Personally, though I always leave feedback myself, it does not worry me, as a buyer or seller, if I do not receive feedback from the other party.

But if you like, you could message the seller, highlighting that you left positive feedback on date November Xth and at time XX:XX and would appreciate receiving similar.

I find feedback useful only in flagging up problems with a particular buyer or seller. If I have a particular issue and read that prior buyers or sellers have had the same issue, it indicates that my experience is not a one-off and prompts me to take whatever appropriate action, rather than wait for a response.

    Feedback is optional.

Personally I think if a seller doesn't leave you FB (providing the sale went well), then they perhaps don't value their customers, so I perhaps wouldn't use them again.

FB from a seller is like a shop keeper saying "thank you. Come again".

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

As feedback is optional, I personally feel that an eBayer should not ask for it.

If you get feedback, then that's great (as long as it's good feedback, of course!) but if there's no feedback just forget it and move on

  • I'm not particularly bothered whether I get feedback as a buyer, but I do appreciate good feedback as a seller, especially if I sell something expensive: sometimes I'm waiting for confirmation that it's arrived safely and the customer is satisfied before I withdraw money from my Paypal account and/or spend it.
