Found a bag sat in the back of the larder at least 3 years old. Can I feed it to the birds as it is or will I need to soak it first?

I would soak or boil it first....because I vaguely remember reading that otherwise such grains will swell inside the bird and cause problems.0

Thanks for that - its what I was thinking myself. Its boiling - and it stinks lol0

Boil it first. Never heard of feeding it to birds, but it makes a great warming winter mash for horses, especially if you add linseed!

The birds never touched it
Had to scrape it up today to stop rats finding it
Just thought the birds might have ate it rather then to waste it - we have 6 pairs of doves who visit0 -
Can I ask why you didn't just eat it yourself? lol“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0
