Well, today Lakeland have far, far exceeded our expectations.
We purchased a 'bread keeper' with cutting guide from them for our home made bread (in an effort to make it last longer than a few hours!).
We were pleased with the design, and the guide was great for helping me to cut straight slices. However after a couple of days we noticed odd scratches on our kitchen worktops. We had a kitchen built in pine a few years ago by a local carpenter - looks fab and was 80% cheaper than B&Q, Homebase et al.
We worked out that it was the bread keeper that was causing these scratches and yes, we should have checked first - but two of the feet are quite sharp.
However DH wrote to customer services via email on Tuesday - not to complain - after all we SHOULD have checked it first, but to advise them. Today they rang him. They have checked all further stocks in their main store. They apologised for this problem, are sending us a replacement, they do not want us to return the other one and they have asked how much it will be to have the marks sanded out to restore the worktop.
I'm amazed - I think it is absolutely wonderful and far exceeds what we had thought. I have to say I can not recommend them enough now.
