Morning everyone. Not posted on a daily thread before, but thought I would share my money saving event of the day.
This morning I discovered that my fridge had stopped working. I went shopping last night so was gutted.
My first thought was to get online and hunt for a bargain.
Then my second thought was, how am I going to pay for it???
So I decided that as we have outside secure storage attached to the house (like an brick lean to, I suppose), and that there will be frost on the ground for a good few days, I would use it to store the food.
I have put in a set of plastic storage drawers that were not being used and lined each drawer with plastic bags and put the food in. So I have a really good make-shift fridge and a bit more time to find the money.:)

Put fleece blankets under sheets on kids beds to make them more snuggly in the cold weather

~Work out a way of saving £10 cos my OH has accidentally overspent on her mobile phone budget by £10. Bless her!

You & OH have my sympathies!

You should've seen my bill last month  - first time I've ever gone over my limits & down to being in hospital and using it a lot as I was bored:o

It won't ever happen again as I really did get the shock of my life and had no idea how much I paid per minute over my allowance:o
I want to make sure I can stay on top of my random spending this month

I'm going to try this too - have started the Weekly Spend Challenge again in the past couple of weeks which seems to be helping!:)

I'm going to (when I can get out to do it!) withdraw £50 cash for Misc spends in December - £10 per week and an extra £10 for emergencies.

This will be a total learning curve for me as I am absolutely useless with cash :o so we'll have to see how it goes!

Anything left out the £10 each week will be going to the Bus Fund as I'm getting a bit worried about this - especially as it's got so cold the last few days & I've seen a few predictions that January's supposed to be horrible!
    Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
    2016 Sell: £125/£250
    £1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000
    Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!

    Just to add:

~Found a lampshade for the hall for 50p in Homebase damaged section.

~Defrosting old freezer so we can sell it on Gumtree.

~Found things in the long grass of back garden of new house! Found two nice wrought iron table supports we can use next Summer for an outdoor table. Also some flower pots. And a wrought iron parasol base which we have used to support a bird table.
